The situation

What has happened

Ashgrove Estate Developments has engaged Greenfield to build the landscape for a display home on Lot 14: a timber and block retaining wall, paved entertaining area, irrigation, turf and planting to a designer's drawings and specification. The quote was accepted at a fixed price with variations to be approved in writing. The site has underground services along the front boundary, a neighbouring occupied home, and a tight three-week program before the estate's open weekend. A three-person crew, a mini excavator and a compactor are allocated. You are supervising from set-out to handover.

Your brief. Plan, set out, supervise and document the project: complete the job safety analysis, confirm services, schedule crew, plant and materials, inspect progress daily against the drawings, track costs against the quote and manage any variation with the client in writing.

Evidence must show a job safety analysis that addresses services, excavation and plant with controls from the hierarchy, a set-out that could be checked against the drawings, a realistic program, daily inspections that compare work with the specification, cost tracking that reconciles with the quote and a variation put to the client in writing before the work.
