Withholding period
The minimum time that must pass between treating an animal or crop with a chemical and slaughter, sale or harvest.
Label rate
The application rate printed on a registered chemical product's label, which must not be exceeded and which sets the legal conditions of use.
Spray drift
Movement of chemical droplets or vapour away from the target area by wind, which must be prevented by observing wind limits and buffers.
Direct seeding
Sowing native seed straight into prepared ground with a calibrated machine as an alternative to planting tubestock.
Tubestock
Small nursery-grown seedlings raised in tubes for revegetation and landscape planting.
Provenance
The geographic origin of seed, used to match plants to the local conditions and genetics of a revegetation site.
Distribution uniformity
A measure of how evenly an irrigation system applies water across an area, calculated from catch can tests.
Roll-over protection
A frame or structure fitted to a tractor or quad bike to protect the operator if the machine overturns.
Job safety analysis
A step by step breakdown of a task that identifies hazards and controls before work starts.
Declared weed
A plant that a landholder is legally required to control or eradicate under catchment and land protection legislation.
