Safety

Quad bike use on channel banks suspended

Following the tip-over on 6 September, quad bikes must not be used on channel banks, creek banks or any wet or steep ground until the investigation is complete. Use the side by side vehicles for stock checks in paddocks 5, 15 and 16. Helmets remain mandatory on every quad bike trip. Report any near miss to your supervisor the same day.

Compliance

Spray season reminders

Boom sprayers have been calibrated for the season and the calibration dates are in the Plant and Equipment Register. Every application needs a planned entry in the Chemical Use and Storage Register before the sprayer leaves the shed and a finalised entry the same day. Wind must be between 3 and 15 kilometres per hour and blowing away from sensitive areas. Check accreditation expiry dates with Helen.

Operations

Lambing under way in paddocks 15 and 16

Lambing has started. Keep vehicles, dogs and noise away from the lambing paddocks except for the scheduled daily check. Report any ewe in difficulty to Angus immediately. Fox baiting is in place in paddock 2 under permit, so working dogs must be muzzled or kept away from that area until the baits are collected.
