Inspect a council playground and maintain the park
You are a Parks Maintenance Worker in the Parks and Landscape Services team.
What has happened
Lions Park is a busy council playground with swings, a slide unit, a climbing frame, seats, a shelter and garden beds. The last monthly inspection found the softfall under the swings well below the standard depth and the swings have been taped off since. Work order WO-26-0412 covers this month's visual inspection, and the crew leader wants you to complete it with them, measure the softfall, check every structure and raise any defect as a work order. While on site the crew will mow the open lawn and prune the bed near the entrance, so a mower pre-start and a public exclusion zone are needed.
Deliverables
- Completed Site Inspection Report
- Work orders for defects
- Mower pre-start record

Evidence guide
Look for a systematic walk pattern, every checklist item recorded, softfall measured and compared with the standard, risk ratings that match the defects, work orders with sensible due dates, a complete mower pre-start and an exclusion zone before mowing. Pruning cuts must be to the correct position and green waste disposed of correctly.
